Biography

Jeremy gained an honours degree in ancient history but chose to make things with his hands after being greatly inspired by the life of William Morris and in particular three men Gimson and the Barnsley brothers. These three came to the Cotswolds, near Cirencester, in the late nineteenth century to live and work. Making furniture in small workshops in a rural setting.

Jeremy was trained in cabinet making by Oliver Morel in Moreton- in-Marsh and in antique furniture restoration near Burford. He works mainly in woods grown in England, buying trees directly from the land and seasoning the timber himself. Tropical hardwoods obtained from broken and recycled furniture and architectural woodwork are also used, principally mahogany, the most commonly used in the past.
