Susan Megson is a successful gallery owner specialising in showcasing unique hand-blown glass art pieces from around the world, crafted by renowned artists such as Ian Bamforth, Vic Bamforth, Glass Eye Studio, Yves Lohe and Graham Muir.  Susan has recently relocated to The Gallery @ The Guild in Chipping Campden to fulfil her dream of exhibiting glass alongside other beautiful and unique objets d’art.

There is a long history of the development of glass into art - a rich tradition from ancient civilisations up to the present.  Glass can be figurative, functional, or abstract or any combination thereof.

What made you decide to relocate to Campden?

Susan: Chipping Campden has a tremendous historic connection with the arts and crafts movement and is already home to some super galleries as well as regularly hosting art exhibitions.  The idea of exhibiting glass from some of the world’s most renowned glass blowers and studios alongside the local talents to be found at The Gallery @ The Guild was irresistible – it is so rare to be able to view a selection of such diverse artistic media in one place.

Susan’s first viewing at The Gallery will be glass by Ian Bamforth and Vic Bamforth during the weekend of 12th and 13th July, 2008.
